Hyderabad: Telugu film actor S. Shivaji who was named as an accused in a criminal conspiracy and was evading the police for the last two-and-half months, was detained at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in the early hours of Wedn-esday while attempting to fly to the US.
Mr Shivaji along with Mr V. Ravi Prakash, the former CEO of Associa-ted Broadcasting Pvt Ltd, was booked in a case by the Cyberabad cyber crime police following a complaint from Alanda Media and Entertainments Pvt Ltd company Director P. Kaushik Rao, that Shivaji and Ravi Prakash colluded and created fabricated documents of sale and purchase of 40,000 shares to take undue advantage.
The case was registered on April 24, against the duo under sections 406, 420, 467, 469, 471 and 120 b of IPC and also under sections 66 and 72 of the IT Act.
Since then, the Cyberabad police served notices thrice to Shivaji under section 41 of CrPC to attend questioning in connection with the case, but he did not turn up citing various reasons. The police had also issued a LookOut Circular against Shivaji to prevent him from leaving the country.
