Chennai techie's murder likened to ISIS-type beheading'
Chennai: Chennai police are examining a high profile Twitter handle from city which is followed even by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and in which Swathi’s murder has been described as an ‘ISIS type beheading carried out by a Muslim’.
Even after the arrest of the killer by the police, the post by Ramki @ramkiXLRI, who claims to be a BJP activist, has not been removed.
Ramki describes himself as XLRI Alumni, BJP karyakarta, social entrepreneur and Swayamsevak from Chennai. Besides trumpeting the fact that Ramki is followed by PM Modi too, the user often flaunts photographs with Union cabinet ministers like VK Singh on his twitter account.
Tweeple have been trolling Ramki for his post while he had also corned some support for linking ISIS with Swathi’s killer. Ramki’s tweet had attracted criticism from political parties, including AAP and Congress, besides a good number of social media users.
Many accused BJP of using communal agenda to make inroads into Tamil Nadu, where the party could not get even one seat in recent assembly poll. But Ramki’s supporters are suggesting that he sue an online magazine which highlighted the issue of his claim. When the matter was pointed out to a senior police official in Chennai, he said he would certainly look into the event.
