Mumbai scribe threatens to sue Rajnikanth for 'Kaala', wants him to apologise

The journalist claims his father was never involved in illegal activities as may have been portrayed in the film.

Chennai: Journalist Jawahar Nadar has accused the Kaala team of portraying his father in a negative light. The film Kaala, in which Rajinikanth plays a Tamil gangster from Mumbai, is said to be based on a real life don. And Jawahar Nadar believes it is his father S. Thiraviam Nadar.

Nadar has demanded a written apology, failing which he has threatened to file a defamation suit seeking '101 crore as damages while demanding an apology within 36 hours.

According to a television report, the Mumbai-based journalist says his father was a jaggery and sugar merchant. He had moved to Mumbai from Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi district in 1957 and over a period of time was nicknamed ‘Gudwala Seth’ and ‘Kaala Seth’.

The journalist claims his father was never involved in illegal activities as may have been portrayed in the film.

The actors team, now extremely busy with the June 7 release of the film in several screens worldwide, said they would give an apt reply at the right time.

Kaala has such a buzz about it that there were no new Tamil films released last Friday (June 1) as those movies would have had to make way for the mega release on June 7. Kaala is set to hit a record number of screens on Thursday.
