Hyderabad: The GHMC has decided to bifurcate powers of the chief city planner and director, planning. The GHMC has two posts of director, town and country planning.
Work related to building permissions, occupancy certificates and road widening are being monitored by chief city planner. The building pe-nalisation scheme, land regularisation sche-me, Charminar Pedestrianisation Project and heritage are with the director, planning.
In view of the newly formed sixth zone, Khairatabad, Serilingampally and Kukatpally zones will be headed by chief city planner and LB Nagar, Charminar and Secunderabad by director planning. All works relating to building permissions, occupancy certificates and matters pertaining to road widening, nala encroachments will be monitored by the officials in their respective zones.
