K Chandrasekhar Rao surprises Ravindra Bharathi staff
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday conducted a surprise inspection of Ravindra Bharathi. Mr Rao went round the premises, examined the block from where cultural affairs department functions.
Mr Rao discussed with the officials on plans to be made to utlise Ravindra Bharathi, located in the heart of the city, better. He said there was a need to expand the parking lots and the lawns. Mr Rao instructed the TS Sahitya Academy should be operated from the Ravindra Bharathi and wanted a better coordination between the Academy and cultural affairs department.
He also asked the officials to make proper arrangements and prepare an action plan for the World Telugu Conference to be held in October. The CM wanted suggestions to be given to the government to protect Telugu language and preserve its greatness.
Mr Rao released a compilation of poems by Telangana poets with village as background theme, “Talliveru”. Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, government adviser K.V. Ramanachary, Chief Secretary S.P. Singh, Sahitya Academy chairman Nandini Sidhareddy were present.
