CBSE result: Bengaluru schools, students shine
Bengaluru: Unlike the dismal SSLC and PU results this year, the CBSE Class X board results were announced to celebrations on Saturday as students from the city excelled in the examination with around 2,600 scoring a perfect 10/10 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and a majority of city schools achieving 100 per cent passes.
As the results were announced around 1 pm on Saturday on the CBSE website, there was jubilation in all the major schools, which acheived cent percent results.
Going by CBSE officials, the Trivandrum region recorded the highest pass percentage followed by the Chennai region that covers Karnataka schools. With only 684 of the 1,78,468 students, who appeared for the examination, failing to clear it, the Chennai region saw a pass percentage of 99.62, which is higher than even the national average.
For the first time in recent years, boys have done better than the girls, with a pass percentage of 93.4. The pass percentage was 92.5 among the girls.
With the Class X results finally announced after much delay, hundreds of CBSE students hurried to make up for lost time and began applying for PU courses. Many also began to eye the CET and all India tests for admissions to various courses.
A student from Vijaynagar, Vijeesh Kumar, who got a perfect 10/10 CGPA , says he plans to switch to the state syllabus so he can prepare for the all- India level tests. "My college has already started classes for Class XI. But I want to switch to state syllabus as the pressure is not as much ," he explained.
