Bidar: India will adopt a “no first strike” policy against Pakistan but its response in the event of an attack by the neighbouring country, will be very strong and the “number of bullets fired will not be counted”, warned Union home minister Rajnath Singh in Bidar on Thursday.
“India is no more a soft state and no force on Earth can take us for granted. We have shown what we are capable of by eliminating the Naga militants in the forests of Myanmar following the martyrdom of 18 soldiers at Chandel district in Manipur recently,” Mr Singh said while addressing a mammoth gathering at Nehru Stadium in connection with the Vikas Parva rally held by the district unit of BJP.
Claiming that the law and order situation has improved a lot due to steps taken by the Centre, he said the forces have been maintaining a strict vigil and the Intelligence apparatus has been toned up to deal with any situation.
Asserting that never before in the political history of independent India has a government given a report card to the people as was done by the BJP government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the NDA government at the Centre has been “responsive, sensitive and accountable” in all respects.
“Earlier, the funds sent by the Centre to zilla panchayats or farmers used to get lost due to pilferage before it reached the needy.
“Now, the entire amount reaches the personal account of the farmer or the zilla panchayat directly due to Direct Transfer Benefit under the Jan Dhan Scheme.”
The home minister claimed that a silent economic revolution was taking place at the grass-root level that was qualitatively transforming the day-to-day lives of the common man.
Bidar Lok Sabha MP Bhagwanth Khuba requested Mr Singh to sanction a BSF training centre at Bidar that will help thousands of youth belonging to the Hyderabad-Karnataka region.
