Visakhapatnam: Coast Guard deploys four rescue ships
Additional ships and aircraft are kept standby for immediate deployment from Haldia Port.
Visakhapatnam: Coast Guard said that it has deployed four ships, two each from Vizag and Chennai, along with rescue team and relief materials to the cyclone-affected areas. Helicopters have also been deployed to help with the search and rescue operations.
The Coast Guard ships and aircraft of MRCC (Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre) Remote Operating Station has minimised the likelihood of the catastrophe at sea by shepherding back the fishing boats to safe locations before the arrival of Fani. Additional ships and aircraft are kept standby for immediate deployment from Haldia Port.
