Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams gears up for summer rush: EO Anil Kumar Singhal
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is all set to meet the needs of summer crowd in Tirumala, said TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal on Friday.
Speaking to media persons after attending the Dial your EO programme in Tirumala, the EO said that from this year onwards, TTD has rolled out a service in Srivari Seva, Pilgrim Welfare Facilitation Service.
The motto of this service is to ensure that all the amenities being provided by TTD reach pilgrims waiting in compartments. The Srivari Seva volunteers will act as pilgrim welfare facilitators in this seva, he added.
During summer, apart from our regular staff, around 3,500 Srivari Sevaks from vigilance and 500 scouts and guides are deployed to cater to the needs of the pilgrims, the EO said.
He added that PWFS aims to supervise, analyse the waiting time of devotees in the Vaikuntam Queue Complex, whether they are released from compartments on time, monitor the supply of Anna Prasadam, drinking water, coffee, tea, milk for children, sanitation, functioning of telephones in compartments and others.
Listing out the series of festivals and rituals in Tirumala and other places, the EO said, from May 13 to 15 Padmavathi Parinayotsavams will be conducted in Tirumala. The other important festivals include annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Govindaraja temple from May 11 to 19, Brahmotsavams of Kotirayaswami temple at Keelapatla from May 12 to 20, annual fete of Lord Narapura Sri Venkateswara temple at Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district from May 16 to 24, the nine-day fete of Sri Karimanikyaswami temple, Tummuru, Naidupeta, Nellore district from May 17 to 26.
TTD has made elaborate arrangements for these annual Brahmotsavams of respective temples, the EO said.
