Hyderabad records 3ºC above normal

Though there were clouds for some time, which provided for some temporary relief, there was no trace of rain.

Hyderabad: While north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha are dealing with Fani, some parts of the Telangana state are experiencing a heatwave. The city recorded a temperature of 3ºC above normal on Friday.

The Indian Meteorological Department said that heatwave conditions prevailed in isolated places in Khammam district.

The mercury touched 44ºC in the districts of Ramagundam, Nizamabad, Nalgonda and Khammam. Almost all places in the state recorded maximum temperature of more than 40ºC, except for Bhadrachalam, which recorded 38.6ºC.

Hyderabad recorded 41.5ºC. Though there were clouds for some time, which provided for some temporary relief, there was no trace of rain.

In Andhra Pradesh, despite the cyclone in the north coastal part of the state, many districts had the day temperature shooting up to 44ºC.

Kavali recorded the highest temperature of 44.6ºC in Andhra Pradesh. The heat was more moderate in Visakhapatnam, Kalingapatnam and Narsapur.
