Telangana: Girl rescued from child marriage scores 7.2 GPA

The girl had lost her father in her early childhood.

Hyderabad: 16-year-old Boddupally Anusha, who completed her SSC from ZP High School in Saroornagar, could not have celebrated her success in the SSC exams had she not been rescued from a forced child marriage. Anusha (Hall ticket no: 1723100693) who aims to become a doctor scored 7.2 GPA.

The girl had lost her father in her early childhood. Her mother works as a housemaid to support the family. Despite all this, Anusha continued her studies. But the shock of her life came when her mother gave in to pressure from her relatives and decided to marry her off to one Srinivas, a distant relative.

A joint operation by Balala Hakkula Sangham, Rachakonda Police and Childline officials helped to rescue the girl and prevent her marriage. and counselled her parents. The Government was persuaded to take care of her future education.
