Telangana: 8,792 school posts to be filled up

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Wednesday said TSPSC will be filling the posts and a notification will be issued in 15 days.

HYDERABAD: It’s raining jobs for teachers in Telangana state. Soon after the notification to fill up 7,306 posts in Gurukul schools, majority of which are teaching jobs, the government has announced that it will fill 8,792 posts in state-run schools in six months.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Wednesday said TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission) will be filling the posts and a notification will be issued in 15 days. He stated that there was no necessity to conduct TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) at this juncture since there are three lakh TET-qualified candidates.

Mr Srihari said that a notification would be released as per the old 10 districts before the reorganisation since the presidential order was still pending. He hinted that there would be no transfer of teachers this year.

Meanwhile, TPTF (Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation) city president M.Ravinder stated that they are waiting for transfers this year since the option was not given last year. As the government has decided to fill vacant positions, the teacher community wants it to give promotion and transfer option to existing teachers working across the state, he said.
