Major shakeup: 126 judges transferred in Tamil Nadu

The registry has promoted 45 district munsif judges as senior civil judges.

Chennai: In a major reshuffle the Madras high court registry has transferred 126 judges in sub-ordinate judiciary across the state. Many of them were promoted and transferred. Among others district Munsif, Ranipet P.V. Sandilyan was transferred to Metropolitan Magistrate, Fast Track Court at Magisterial Level - III, Saidapet and X judge, Court of Small Causes N. Kothandaraj, to the registrar, Court of Small Causes, Chennai. The registry has promoted 45 district munsif judges as senior civil judges.

Registrar General R. Sakthivel has ordered the transferred judges to hand over charge of their posts to any one of the nearest principal district munsifs or district munsifs or additional district munsifs or judicial magistrates or district munsif-cum-judicial magistrates or judges, Court of Small Causes, Chennai, as the case may be, on May 5, 2017, and take charge of their new posts, without availing full joining time.
