No lockdown impact on MPs as Centre credits their salaries on Friday

Hyderabad: While Telangana legislators have copped a deep salary cut, there has been no such cut or even a delay in salaries for MPs. The Central government credited salaries to all MPs on Friday into their bank accounts.

Lok Sabha MP from Bhongir Komatireddy Venkatareddy confirmed that he has received salary.

In contrast, both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments have cut salaries of their MLAs, MLCs and other staff due to the lockdown.

In a letter to MPs, the LS Speaker said that the country was facing a grave emergency due to Covid-19, which has become a worldwide pandemic.
