The group was found violating the advisory during the surveillance of drone cameras

Kochi: A total of 41 persons including women have been arrested in Kochi for violating lockdown norms and gathering in the walkway for morning walk. Police arrested the group as per the Kerala Epidemic Diseases Ordinance, 2020.

Though people were warned against venturing out for morning walk, they ignored the direction and used to gather at the Panampilly Nagar walkway, a major residential area in Kochi.

The group was found violating the advisory during the surveillance of drone cameras.

As per the new ordinance those who violate the instructions or regulations imposed to prevent spread of the virus can be awarded up to two years of imprisonment or Rs 10,000 as fine or both.
