One electrocuted, Five hurt during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rally
Vijayawada: One person was electrocuted and five injured during YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s roadshow at Piduguralla in Guntur district on Wednesday.
According to Piduguralla Urban circle inspector P. Veerandra, APSRTC conductor Ch Somi Reddy, 45, and the five others were standing at a canteen and watching Mr Reddy’s roadshow.
Due to the milling crowds trying to catch a glimpse of Mr Reddy, Somi Reddy came in touch with a live electric wire supplying power to the canteen.
Five others who tried to help him were injured.Locals and police rescued and shifted them to a private hospital where doctors declared Somi Reddy brought dead.
The five others were administered first aid and sent home. The police has registered a case and has started an investigation.
In a separate road accident, two persons died at Maadinapadu of Dachepalli mandal in Guntur district on Wednesday.
According to sub-inspector S. Rajesh, a school bus dashed against an autorickshaw, killing Ramavath Vijiya Bai, 43, and Jyothi Bai, 40, who were travelling in the three-wheeler, on the spot.
The police has registered a case and an investigation is on.
