CM: centre deliberately denied us permission to use choppers

Prior to his arrival at Hirisave by road, the car in which CM was travelling was searched by police and election officials.

Hassan: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday alleged that the BJP led government at the Centre had deliberately denied permission to him and his party leaders to make use of choppers during the election campaign in the state.

Speaking to reporters at Channarayapatna town, Mr Kumaraswamy asserted that permission had been denied to them to make sure their movement is curtailed and they would not be able to meet voters or access more areas during the campaign. He also hinted at the possibility of instructions being issued to the officials concerned to deny permission for flying choppers. “I did not expect the BJP to stoop to such low levels,” he said.

The convoy was intercepted at the check-post by the police and the CM’s driver got down from the vehicle to open the dickey of his vehicle to facilitate the search Later, the CM was asked to continue his journey.
