Five Telugu MPs never raised issues in Parliament

Mr Reddy did not participate in any debate, did not ask a single question, and did not introduce a single private Bill.

Hyderabad: Members of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, who have been extremely vocal in Parliament in the last one month, spent much of the last four years contributing little to Parliament and its debates.

In the last four years of the 16th Lok Sabha, at least five Telugu MPs did not open their mouths in Parliament. S.P.Y. Reddy from Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh, who defected to the Telugu Desam from the YSR Congress, created a record of having the poorest performance in the Lok Sabha.

According to the data with PRS Legislative Research, Mr Reddy did not participate in any debate, did not ask a single question, and did not introduce a single private Bill. His attendance was also very poor at just 14 per cent.

Chittoor MP N. Siva Prasad of the TD, in recent days has been coming to the Parliament to highlight the Central government’s failure in implementing the assurances given to AP in the AP Reorganisation Act and granting special category status to AP. But he has not opened his mouth inside the house in the last four years.

Telangana’s Warangal MP P. Dayakar of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti has also made no contribution in the last four years, and nor has the party’s Rajya Sabha MP V. Lakshmikanta Rao.
