Hyderabad; About 30 prisoners who are under trial for different offences in different courts of the state were given counselling session along with their family members at Sanga Reddy jail premises.
Santosh Kumar Rai, a senior jail officer from Sanga Reddy jail said, “The family counselling is a part of Unnati session, which aims at reforming the minds and behaviour of the prisoners so, that they do not come back to jails again.” He further added, “During the family counselling programme, the prisoners along with the family members are shown videos, as to what they have lost in life and their family members have been missing them.”
The prisoners during this session are allowed to have food with their family members and spend quality time with them. The session started at around 11am in the morning and ended at 5pm.
