Mysuru: A Congress leader has filed a complaint with the returning officer of Nanjangud assembly constituency against a Kannada weekly magazine claiming that a report which appeared in the magazine would influence the voters of the constituency.
The complainant had alleged that the report speaks about the seat predictions in 2018 assembly polls and also has derogàtory remarks against a community. Around 20,000 copies were brought for distribution in Nanjangud town but this was prevented by Congress party workers.
Some people who came in a car with the magazines reportedly escaped in the car after the Congress workers saw them. The returning officer has received the complaint and investigations are on.
