Hyderabad police target festival speakers
Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force from the South and East Zones in Hyderabad has banned the use of loud outdoor sound systems during the upcoming festival season of Ramanavami and Hanuman Jayanthi.
Police officials on Monday conducted meetings with agents and retailers providing the sound system and DJs for the events and warned them to avoid renting out loudspeakers for events across the city.
Sound pollution is one of the biggest concerns plaguing the city currently and during the festivals, the problem only worsens. Cops receive several complaints during the season. Cops also asked the agents to have valid permissions and to keep an eye on permissible sound levels and timings at places that allow public gatherings and processions during the upcoming festival.
