Whistleblower identified fraud, returned to Andhra Pradesh

Reddy alleged that TD had ordered the company to delete names of voters against the party.

Hyderabad: After working in the USA for over a decade, data analyst, Thummala Lokeswara Reddy returned to India after he learnt of alleged illegal practices were being carried out in Andhra Pradesh, with regards to electoral data.

Mr Reddy, who completed his engineering from Tirupati and masters in Anantapur, worked in multi-national companies in the US for a long time before returning.

He came back about one-and-a-half-years ago and started working for the Opposition YSR Congress, which had formed a team to filter out bogus voters from the electoral list.

He filed a complaint with the Madhapur police on March 2, alleging that mobile applications developed by IT Grids India Pvt Ltd, on behalf of Telugu Desam, had collected the details of residents of Andhra Pradesh to analyse who was in its favour.

He alleged that TD had ordered the company to delete names of voters against the party. He gave details of four voters as an example.
