Sewage leak irks residents of Alwal
Hyderabad: Residents of an Alwal colony are having to put up with the overflow of sewage on to the roads. Apart from vehicles splashing pedestrians and two-wheeler riders with drainage water, the sewage is stagnating at places and resulting in breeding of mosquitoes.
Residents said this was the situation for the last couple of weeks.
A member from the Burhani Rahaaish Association in RTC Colony said, “The sewage line in the vicinity joins our colony drain which gets choked daily. The main line is too small to handle the heavy inflow.”
“We have to walk through filth and battle mosquitoes. A bad smell hangs over the colony,” said Mr Mohammed Sabuwala, a resident, who said the Clean and Green City initiative was ignored.
Residents said they had made umpteen requests to their corporator suggesting diversion of the offending line to prevent the chokage but were ignored.
