Cop saves boy, gets pat from K T Rama Rao
Hyderabad: Minister for IT K.T. Rama Rao appreciated the efforts of circle inspector M. Mahesh for saving and rehabilitating a child who met with an accident on February 2.
On the fateful day, a couple, Chandriah and Meshwari, were on their way from Jiyaguda to Mahbubnagar along with their two children on bike when a car dashed into their vehicle. The boy, Sai Kumar, was lying injured on the road. Inspector Mahesh who was on his way to office spotted the boy lying on the road and rushed him to the hospital.
Maheshwari, mother of the five-year-old boy who was saved by the inspector said, “Mr Mahesh was no less than God for us on that day when my son met with an accident. I was not in a condition to pay the medical bills for his treatment, but the good cop made the payment himself without giving a second thought.”
Talking about how his kind act got due recognition, Mr Mahesh said, “I was on bandobast duty at Novotel. KTR sir spotted me and appreciated the efforts I took that day to save the child. He said that all police personnel should follow humanitarian principles while performing duty. I just did what others would have done.”
