Confusion over RTE admission continues in Bengaluru

The parents complained that they could not apply as their Aadhaar details were not updated to their present address.

Bengaluru: Confusion surrounding the RTE admission process continued even on Friday as hundreds of parents complained that the information provided on the DPI website is not accurate.

The parents complained that several schools in Bengaluru North district have been listed both in the LKG and Standard I admission, creating confusion.

Also, many parents said that they could not apply as their Aadhaar details were not updated to their present address, though they had submitted the documents a few days ago.

Mr Nagasimha G. Rao of RTE Task Force said that though the DPI had said that this year’s application process would be hassle free, they were receiving many complaints. “We want the DPI to ensure that all the issues are rectified at the earliest,” he said.

PU lecturers to protest
Hundreds of PU lecturers will hold a protest in the city on Saturday to press for their various demands. Mr Thimmappa Purle, president, Lecturers’ Association, said that though the state government assured them last year that their problems would be looked into, issues have not been resolved.

“We will carry out he II PUC examination duty wearing black bands. If our demands are not met we will boycott the valuation works,” he warned.
