Hyderabad: Officials turn away 2 students

Hyderabad: About 94.5 per cent of students turned up to take the Intermediate second year theory exams that commenced across the state on Thursday. Officials booked two students for malpractice. In Hyderabad district, 64,849 candidates appeared for the second language exam paper (Sanskrit, Telugu, Hindi, French, and Arabic) conducted in 189 centres. In Ranga Reddy district, 95,683 students took the exam.

Board officials in the city allowed some candidates who turned up a few minutes late at different centres on humanitarian grounds. Those who were delayed by more than 15 minutes were not allowed. Two girls were turned back as they arrived very late at a centre in Nampally. “They came at 9.17 am and the time was recorded by a few TV camera personnel stationed there,” a board official said.
