BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will bring down the curtains on “Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivartana Yatra” by addressing a mammoth rally during his 100-minute visit to Bengaluru on Sunday. Sources in the party said Mr Modi would arrive at HAL airport at 3.50 pm, and reach Palace Grounds, venue of the rally, 15 minutes later. He will address the rally for about an hour before returning to HAL airport for departure.
More than 13,000 police personnel would be deployed to maintain peace and order in the city during Mr Modi's visit.
The city police have made elaborate security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the city to participate in the valedictory of BJP's Parivarthana Rally at Palace Grounds on Sunday.
As many as 13,000 police personnel, inlcuding three DCPs, 33 ACPs, 122 inspectors and over 300 sub-inspectors, and head constables and constables besides 50 KSRP and 30 CAR platoons will be deployed to maintain law and order.
CCTV cameras have been installed near the venue and the police are conducting verification drills at hotels and lodges, bus-stands, airport and railway stations as part of the standard operating procedure from Saturday, City Police Commissioner T. Suneel Kumar said.
He made it clear that no protests will be allowed near the venue. The security has been beefed up after the murder of an alleged BJP worker at Chinnappa Garden in JC Nagar.
Though things have settled down, tension prevailed in the area for two days as the murder was given a political and communal colour.
No parking
Parking of all vehicles is banned from 6 am to 8 pm on Ramanamaharshi Road, C.V. Raman Road, Bellary Road, from Hebbal Flyover, HQTC and Mehkri Circle, Jayamahal Road, Taralabalu Road, M.V. Jayaram Road, Palace Road, Palace Cross Road, R.T. Nagar Main, water tank junction to Gundurao's Residence, PRTC junction to Water Tank junction, on Old Airport Road, on Cubbon Road and at Chalukya Circle.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) R. Hithendra has issued traffic advisory in view of the movement of PM and his cabinet colleagues.
Parking arrangements have been made for buses and cars at Mavinakai Mandi, Circus Ground and Main Palace Ground.
