Hyderabad: Jilted techie tweets to DG, requests to take action against ex
Hyderabad: A woman techie tweeted to Telangana Director-General of Police Anurag Sharma requesting him to take action against her ex-boyfriend who had cheated her in the name of marriage.
Reacting quickly, Mr Sharma asked the Cyberabad police to initiate action. On January 6, Ms N. Annapurna had lodged a complaint with the Ramachandrapuram police station stating that her boyfriend P. Gnana Prakash had cheated her. She said they had fallen in love while working in Hyderabad three years ago.
In May last year, he took her to his room where they consummated their affair. On January 2, he promised to marry her but did not turn up. After that, he stopped all contact with her. Police registered a case under IPC Sections 493, 419 and 420.
On Thursday, she tweeted her case to Mr Sharma and said, “I don’t feel safe anymore.” She also tagged minister K.T. Rama Rao and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan. She continued, “hi sirs am expecting a response from you people. Anything can be corrupted??? (sic)”
The DGP immediately directed the Cyberabad police to update him on the case status. The Cyberabad police responded that they had already booked a case against the suspect and that investigation was in progress.
