Vijayawada: “I am a Kapu. I got two jobs through merit. We should believe in our strength. We should not be greedy. We should not go on demanding reservation. My children also pledged that they would not seek reservation,” Facebook user Mahesh Degala posted on his timeline.
The post went viral within hours and was shared by hundreds. Mr Degala also stated that he got two government jobs, in 1995 and in 1998. He got a job first as a dialysis therapist at SVIMS in Tirupati and was later ranked 140 in the district selection commission exams and became a special grade teacher.
User Pasupuleti Jagadeesh Kumar commented: “Good one! Really appreciate your forward step. Let’s assume, you got a job for 140 rank and the same guy from your category with 141 rank didn’t get the job, as the quota ends; but the reserved candidate with 250 rank gets the job, who is much wealthier too. What type of equity is it? You mean the 141 ranked guy is unfit for the job? I need clarification from u.” Mr Degala did not reply to the comment.
