House For All survey planned

People under EWG and LIG can apply online between February 5 to 14 through the website of AP State Housing Corpora-tion Limited (APSHCL) .

Nellore: In a bid to ascertain demand for housing in urban local bodies under Housing for All Scheme, which is part of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) programme, the district administration will launch a survey through collection of applications online from lower income groups and economically weaker sections.

People under EWG and LIG can apply online between February 5 to 14 through the website of AP State Housing Corporation Limited (APSHCL) http://45.114.142.189:8788/apshcl/dashboard.seam or approach Mee Seva Centres for assistance.

According to Project Director of APSHCL, Nellore unit, N. Ramachandra Reddy, 20,680 houses sanctioned for Nellore district. Among the 20,680 houses sanctioned, 10,040 allotted for Nellore, 5,013 for Gudur, 4,510 for Kovur and 1,028 for Atmakur Civic bodies. The beneficiaries will be picked fr-om the applications received online after scrutiny by respective commissioners.

Each unit (house) estimated to cost Rs 5.50 lakh with Rs 4.80 lakh for const-ruction of the house and Rs 70,000 for infrastructure.

The balance applications will be forwarded to the government for sanction in the next phase. The Union government will offer Rs 1.50 lakh, state government Rs 1.50 lakh, bank loan Rs 2 lakh and beneficiary contribution Rs 50,000 for each unit.

PMAY scheme aimed at constructing more than two crore houses across the length and breadth of the nation within a span of next seven years. The scheme which is started in 2015 would conclude in 2022. The target beneficiaries of scheme would be poor belonging to economically weaker sections and Lower Income Group categories in urban establishments of the country.

Incidentally AP was the first State to send proposals for housing units under the scheme and the Centre had allotted as many as 1.93 lakh units in 59 municipalities and corporations in AP.
