Harish Rao cuts deadlines to six months

He said like in Kaleswaram, there would be three shifts working in all other projects to complete them ahead of schedule.

Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday revised the 16-month deadline set out earlier to eight months for completion of irrigation projects.

Addressing a meeting of engineers incharge of irrigation projects, Mr Harish Rao said after noticing the pace of works in the Kaleswaram project he decided to reduce the deadline of eight months.

He said due to the dedication and sincerity of engineering departments, the Kaleswaram project could get all clearances and permissions from the agencies concerned, which was a record.

He said like in Kaleswaram, there would be three shifts working in all other projects to complete them ahead of schedule.

Mr Harish Rao said it was a boon for Telangana state as no other state had a Chief Minister like Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao who had wide understanding and knowledge of the irrigation sector.

He asked them to follow the spirit of Special Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi who worked even performed the duties of a typist section officer at times to complete the day’s work.
