Hyderabad: Ghazal Srinivas was suspended as the brand ambassador of Save Temples organisation on Wednesday following his arrest for alleged involvement in a sexual harassment case.
Addressing the media, Save Temples organisation head Velagapudi Prakasa Rao said, “The organisation has held women in high regard and the news of Ghazal Srinivas indulging in sexual harassment is a shock. Therefore, it was unanimously decided to suspend the singer from the brand ambassadorship.”
The sexual harassment case came to light when the woman working as a radio jockey lodged a complaint against Srinivas with the Panjagutta police. She submitted a video recording of an incident as proof. The cops arrested the singer who was sent to judicial remand.
Meanwhile, the Nampally court heard Srinivas’ bail petition and will deliver a decision on it on Thursday. The police argued against the accused and appealed to the court not to grant bail to him saying he could tamper with evidences if given bail.
Police officials submitted the remand report with details about Srinivas’ sexual relations with another of his female employee, who is accused number 2 and has gone into hiding after his arrest on Tuesday.
