Cut roots of black money, says Professor Muhammad Yunus
Tirupati: Nobel Peace Prize winner and the founder of Grameen Bank Professor Muhammad Yunus said India should take demonetisation of high value notes as an opportunity to cut the roots of black money. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Indian Science Congress here, Dr Yunus said, “It is of no use to criticise the demonetisation now. India should work on to stop the institutional corruption and take steps to ensure black money is not accumulated again.”
He said India should focus on social businesses for solving people’s problems and India has a huge potential to create young entrepreneurs. “The government may work on a law for banking for poor. Banking licences to NGOs may also be considered. The law is important. Instead of creating job seekers, India should create job providers,” he said.
