Coimbatore: Relatives of a 20-year-old youth, who died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Coimbatore, allegedly ransacked it, police said.
A doctor, who tried to pacify them, was injured in the melee, they said.
Pradeep Kumar, a computer course student, suddenly fell ill and was shifted to the hospital at Gandhipuram early on Wednesday but he died some time later due to difficulty in breathing, police said.
Blaming the doctors for providing wrong treatment, some relatives allegedly ransacked the hospital and damaged furniture, they said.
A senior doctor, who tried to pacify them, sustained injuries in the melee. Police brought the situation under control.
Hospital management and police are going through the CCTV camera footage to identify those who ransacked the hospital, police said.
