Hasini killer' missing, his mom found dead
Chennai: A case that saw many twists and turns threw one more shocking turn as Chennai girl Hasini's alleged killer Dhashvanth's mother was found dead in her home on Saturday. A son, who is supposed to be in grief, has gone missing from the scene and suspicion is on him.
Police said that jewels weighing 200 grams have also gone missing from the house at Mangadu, near Chennai. Mangadu police received a distress call on Saturday evening, informing them that 45-year-old Sarala, Dhashvanth's mother was beaten to death, a police official said.
The police are also suspecting Dhashvanth for murdering his mother but maintained that they had not yet come to a conclusion. Former techie, Dhashvanth (23) earned notoriety after he was accused of sexually assaulting and murdering a 7-year-old girl Hasini in last February.
Finally, Dhashvanth got bail in September after the Madras High Court annulled the Goondas act detention. Delay in submitting a charge sheet by the police worked in Dhashvanth's favour. Many cried foul over bail being granted to Dhashvanth and minister D. Jayakumar promised then that the government would look into such cases to ensure that the culprits don't escape.
“We would also come out with rules that will protect children from child abuse”, he hadsaid.Meanwhile, police sources said that now unemployed Dhashvanth was asking his mother for money a few days ago, but was denied.
