Hyderabad: Midnight is best time to stand in queues at ATMs
Hyderabad: Midnight seems to be the right time to go to ATMs to draw money. ATMs that have money are witnessing midnight queues as people do not want to do it the morning for fear of the rush and that the cash would run out.
Most ATMs run out of cash quickly during the day. The money that is loaded in the late evening tends to last longer, and many people are taking advantage of this.
“The midnight queues reflect the pathetic situation of the people on account of demonetisation. People cannot afford to sleep for fear that they would not get money during the day," said Mr P. Avinash, a software engineer, who stood in a long queue at Kukatpally, till 2 am on Friday, to draw '2,000.
Initially, ATMs at up-market areas like Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Begumpet, Gachibowli and other areas which cover IT corridor were loaded at nights. The idea was to cater to staff working in IT firms.
“I was coming from Banjara Hills to Secunde-rabad at about midnight when I noticed a queue before an ATM. I joined the queue and got cash within an hour. I had failed to get money after waiting for four hours, said Mr Karri Bhuvan.
