Demonetisation killing people, says K Narayana

He termed the demonetisation decision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, as 'surgical strike' on common public.

GUNTUR: CPI senior leader K. Narayana termed the demonetisation decision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, as “surgical strike” on common public which did not yield any good results. Mentioning about Karuvu Dadulu (drought attacks) for food during famines, he predicted that public will start currency attacks soon in the future if the government fails to resolve currency crisis.

Mr Narayana came to Guntur on Friday for a party programme and addressed the press. He alleged that Mr Modi was protecting the wealthy class and forcing the common man on to the roads to eke out their living through demonetisation. Terming the demonetisation decision as a blunder, he demanded Mr Modi and his cabinet ministers to first declare their money and assets within 24 hours.

He lamented that public are losing valuable working hours due to standing in queues at the banks. He commented that the CM’s committee on demonetisation as being a ‘brainless committee’ and felt there is no use with that committee. “Dictator Hitler never insulted the currency but killed public directly and Mr Modi was insulting and demonetising the currency, killing the public psychologically.” He opined that Hitler committed suicide due to fear of public and Indian public will teach a befitting lesson to Mr Modi soon.

Objecting to the restrictions on gold, Mr Narayana said that these restrictions will hurt the sentiments of Indian women. He felt that there was no use with the review meetings of CM N. Chandrababu Naidu on demonetisation as it was killing valuable time of the officials. He said, “90 people lost their lives due to demonetisation. The government is responsible for these deaths as they were government killings.” He demanded Rs 20 lakh compensation to the next of the kin who died.

Mentioning about the waiving of Rs 1,300 crore loan to Vijay Mallya and helping him to flee to London, Mr Narayana alleged that the BJP government was giving sops to the corrupt industrialists and making the lives of the public miserable. He expressed suspicion about RBI Governor Urjit Patel helping the corporate companies and sought a thorough inquiry into the Reliance KG basin gas scam.
