Delhi fog hits trains, planes
Hyderabad: The travel plans of air passengers went haywire on Friday as over a dozen flights from Rajiv Gandhi International airport to various destinations, particularly, Delhi, were cancelled. The delayed arrival of flights from Delhi due to fog caused a spiralling effect resulting in cancellation of flights to destinations like Varanasi, Bengaluru, Jabalpur, Chennai and Goa.
Trains from Delhi were delayed by four to five hours due to the fog. SCR officials said there were no cancellations but train services were getting delayed to entire north India belt.
Airlines staff at RGIA here said the cancellations were anticipated to continue on Saturday in the morning and evening and night due to fog and poor visibility.
“We are trying to accommodate passengers in other flights in the afternoon or on different dates,” an officer said.
