Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the logo and the website www.amaravatimarathon.run on Friday in the presence of district collector Babu A, city police commissioner Gautam Sawang, Vijayawada municipal commissioner Veerapa-ndian and the organising committee of Deep Trust.
The Disease Eradi-cation through Educa-tion and Prevention (Deep) trust will organise the Amaravati Marathon on January 9 in Vijayawada. The marathon will comprise 21K, 10K, 5K and 3K in the run categories. Deep early this year had hosted marathons in Amara-vati, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati. The Chief Minister would be the present during the marathon.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Amaravati Marathon will be a culmination of people’s love, compassion and commitment to build and nurture their Capital. “Running for Amara-vati means running for a future where youngsters will build their careers, where happiness index will be the measure of the quality of living and where every dream will be achieved in a brighter, healthier and happier Andhra Pradesh. Join me in this Run for Amaravati, for it is our time to rise,” he added.
