Thiruvananthapuram: The woman petitioner in the Solar scam on Friday gave a statement before a local court here in connection with the rape case against Congress MP K.C. Venugopal. The statement was recorded under section 164 of CrPC. The proceedings lasted for over two hours. The police will be now submitting an application for a copy of the statement. Further investigation would be carried out based on that. A case was also registered against former CM Oommen Chandy based on her complaint. However a statement is unlikely to be taken in that case as it did not involve rape, but only unnatural sex.
