KURNOOL: Dr. K. Pakkirappa, who took oath as Kurnool District Superintendent of Police (SP), on Friday said that removing factionism, Maoism are his priorities. Maoists in Nallamala used to create challenges for the District Police in the recent past and the police had been devising ways to control the spread of Maoism in the district.
Kurnool district, with 84 police stations, is the largest in terms of police network but also suffers from problems such as child marriages, women trafficking, narcotics, crude bomb explosions, extortion and cyber crime. Cases related to insurance frauds have also been reported significantly from the district and the District Police Administration finds it challenging.
Dr. Pakkirappa belongs to the 2011 batch of IPS and he belongs to Haveri district in Karnataka state. He studied Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry at the Bachelors-level.
