Telangana petroleum dealers seek hike in commissions from oil companies

AIPDA chairman M. Prabhakar Reddy said that the association has given a call of no purchase and no sale' on November 15.

Hyderabad: Petroleum dealers will exert pressure on the government in various forms through this month, seeking a hike in their commissions from the oil companies.

While the All India Petroleum Dealers’ Association has given a call to petroleum dealers not to purchase fuel from oil companies on this Thursday, followed by ‘no sale’ on November 15, Bharat Petroleum dealers in Telangana state have called for ‘no purchase’ on this Thursday and Friday, followed by single shift operation on November 5.

The Bharat Petroleum Dealers’ Association (TS) told the media here that there will be no activity by dealers on Sundays and bank holidays from November 6 onwards. AIPDA chairman M. Prabhakar Reddy said that the association has given a call of ‘no purchase and no sale’ on November 15.

“Other associations have called for other forms of protest programmes,” he said.
The petroleum dealers are seeking the hike in their margins by changing the present formula, ethanol blending, sorting out the issue of transport tenders, toilet issues and invoicing of supplies as per automation receipt at petrol bunks.
They said that the Union government had in 2011 issued an order on dealers’ margin which is not being implemented.
