Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Cong-ress Committee (TPCC) celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary on Wednes-day by conducting a 'Congress Sandesh Yatra' from Charminar to Gandhi Bhavan, the party's headquarters.
AICC General Secretary and Telangana Congress affairs in-charge R C Khuntia hoisted the national flag at Charminar and addressing the gathering at Gandhi Bhavan said the youth of today should follow in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi.
Former minister Shabbier Ali slammed American President Donald Trump for calling Prime Minister Modi the ‘father of the nation’.
“Mahatma Gandhi was an institution in himself while PM Modi is BJP's poster boy,” he said, further describing the prime minister as “a poser and an actor” as he has even modelled for Jio, Pay TM and Khadi.
He said that Gandhi led the struggle for independence and brought freedom to the country, but Prime Minister Modi has suppressed people's freedom, manipulated elections, openly lied and cheated the entire country with jumlas like Achche Din and Sabse Vikas.
