Madras high court cancelled advance bail for two persons

According to petitioner, the two were working with the RR cine productions, in which the petitioner was a partner.

Chennai: The Madras high court has cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to two persons, who allegedly took away the hard disc of the movie ‘Money’ from the recording theatre of RR cine productions in Virugambakkam.

Allowing a petition filed by Durairajan of RR cine productions, justice M. Dhandapani cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to R. Kishore alias Guiness Kishore and Shantanakumar, after it was brought to the notice of the court that the duo had failed to comply with the condition imposed by the court.

According to petitioner, the two were working with the RR cine productions, in which the petitioner was a partner. They offered to sell the title ‘Money’, which was already registered by them, to the film company for which they also received a sum of '2 lakh. When the film was about to be completed, the duo with a help of a sub-inspector of police, Virugambakkam, came to the recording theatre and took away two hard discs of the movie. The petitioner was made to run from pillar to post to give a complaint and finally based on the orders of a Magistrate, an FIR was registered against the trio.

Meanwhile, Kishore and Shantanakumar approached the Madras high court and obtained anticipatory bail on the condition that they should appear before the police station concerned daily for four weeks and thereafter as and when required. However, through an RTI query, petitioner came to know that the two appeared before the police only once and thus, they have not complied with the condition imposed by the court, he added and sought cancellation of anticipatory bail granted to them.
