Central Crime Branch raids more pubs, bars, arrests over 100 rowdies
Bengaluru: Continuing the crackdown on illegal activities and rowdies, Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths raided nearly 40 pubs and bars and arrested over 100 people.
The CCB team comprising five ACPs, 20 inspectors and 70 policemen raided nearly 40 pubs and bars in Hennur, J.P. Nagar, Laggere, Peenya and other places in the city. The CCB is on a drive to curb all illegal activities, such as prostitution, gambling etc, in the city limits and is conducting raids at several places.
In the last one week, over 50 illegal pubs, bars and clubs have been raided where activities like flesh trade and gambling were reported. Over 200 people have been taken into custody so far.
According to a senior police officer, several teams have been formed to crack down on illegal activities and on rowdies. The move is a bid to curb the criminal activities in the city which had increased over the last couple of years, he said.
