Hyderabad: Prof. Sucheta Mahajan of the Jawaharlal Nehru University re-titled her talk ‘A Nationalist Manifesto from an Anti-National University’ from ‘Making and Un-making of the Nation’ at Manthan Samvad.
She described the success of the Nehruvian era in establishing a secular, progressive, and economically independent country and contrasted it with the lack of freedom of speech and violence based on religion and ideology today.
She spoke of the era of progressive nation-building and expressed concern at the use of government institutions to promote unscientific histories.
