Visakhapatnam: Vizag zone topped in AP in the declaration of unaccounted money under the union government's IDS 2016 which ended three days ago.
Vizag region having its jurisdiction from Srikakulam to Kakinada had witnessed declarations worth approximately Rs 750 crore of which 45 per cent will be paid as tax to I-T department.
There were 1,800 declarations. Vijayawada region’s were pegged at Rs 600 crore. Vizag region — Vizag, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Kakinada — has approximately 10,000 persons who have undisclosed wealth and evade tax. Put together they were suspected to hold Rs 1,000 crore of black money.
“The compilation of the declarations is on. We plan to raid those who didn’t declare,” said a I-T source.
