Hyderabad: CBSE sounds fraud alert

The calls were being made from different numbers, the board said.

HYDERABAD: The CBSE has issued a public notice alerting parents about incidents of certain unidentified persons contacting parents and students and asking them to deposit money in bank accounts that they name. The calls were being made from different numbers, the board said.

Asked for the reason for the alert, DAV Schools regional director Seetha Kiran said the alert came at a time when payment of exam fees for Classes 10 and 12 was going on; the last date is October 10. “Parents were given messages that fee should be paid to the school. The schools will take challan and remit the amount with the CBSE,” she said.
