Hyderabad: T-Works blueprint released

The facility is expected to be up and running in November.

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has released a blueprint to build the largest hardware prototyping facility in the country, T-Works.

The facility is expected to be up and running in November. While T-Hub is for software startups, T-Works is for electronics, electromechanical and mechanical start-ups.

Due to the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT), electric vehicles, medical devices, consumer products, robotics, hardware have become an indispensable component in product development. To strengthen this ecosystem, the government took up the initiative to build T-Works.

T-Works is a 50,000 sq. ft. dedicated incubation facility at Hyderabad Knowledge City. IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan said, “The construction of T-Works is in progress and it will be ready in November.”

T-Works currently works from a makeshift office in Begumpet where at least half-a-dozen prototyping start-ups are interacting currently. The T-Works website states that there are openings for embedded, mechanical and power electronics engineers.

T-Works CEO Sujai Karampuri was not available for immediate comment on the prototype.

Through T-Works, entrepreneurs can design, develop, and test innovative hardware products in the areas of electronics, mechanical, mechatronics through active collaboration with the industry, academia, investors, experts, and other stakeholders.
