The city police plans to set up Vizag Security Council (VSC) along the lines of the Society of Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) to deal with the security aspects of IT companies and commercial establishments. A few other organisations and institutions in Vizag have also not taken shape.
The cameras are on the verge of installation. The APIIC officials had held a meeting with the police and IT companies to identify a suitable location for the cameras. The city police has suggested 14 locations, from where almost all the routes could be monitored.
PM Palem circle inspe-ctor Ch. Lakshmana Murthy said the CCTV surveillance project would help to beef up security in the area with monitoring getting easier. This could also help keep tabs on groups of youngsters indulging in mischievous activities....
